Anja Weber

After musical education and regular dance training during childhood and youth Anja graduated a professional three-year dance education at Iwanson International School of Contemporary dance in Munich. She graduated also in philosophy, musicology and dance science and psychology and medicine (M.A. phil., Dipl.-Psych., Physician/Specialist in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy). Certified Laban-Bartenieff-Movement-Analyst (CLMA) and educated in Kestenberg-Movement-Profile (KMP).

As a practitioner in the field of dance (dancer, choreographer, dance teacher) with a particular artistic interest in time, rhythm and dynamics, Anja’s research is based on a multi-disciplinary scientific background (psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, musicology, theatre and dance science) and artistic collaborations. She is especially interested in the connections between body and mind, emotional and motor processing and implicit knowledge. Her artwork examines the dynamics and interactions of bodies in time and space. As a physician specialized in Psychosomatic Medicine Anja practices dance therapy and psychotherapy and teaches regularly dance medicine, psychology and pedagogics in study and degree courses.
